Symposium: “Production
Under Protected
Conditions in Mediterranean Climate”
During the Israel
International Agricultural week (IIAW), that will take place between
the 27th of February and the 5th of March
2006, an International Symposium will be conduct on the subject:
“Production under Protected Conditions in Mediterranean Climate”,
among the International Agricultural Exhibition, “Agro-Mashov” 2006
many events, at the Tel-Aviv Trade Fairs & Conventions Center.
Sitting at the head of the scientific committee, the Chairman, Dr.
Meir Teitel, a Volkani scientist and an expert in greenhouses
agriculture. Other scientific committee members are: Prof. Y. Elkind,
Prof. I. Seginer,
Dr. J. Tanny and Mr. I. Esquira.
At the Symposium lectures will be preformed by Prof. Yoni
Elkind, fro the Faculty of Agriculture in Rechovot, Dr. Avi Arbel,
Dr. David Ben-Yakar, Dr. Yosi Tanay and many more researchers. Also
expected in the program guest speakers from abroad, like Dr. Boulard,
from France & another scientist from the Nederland.
Mr. Haim Allouche, “Agro-Mashov” 2006 CEO, declared that:
“Israeli agriculture is a well-known model for admiration and
imitation all over the world. The Israeli agricultural achievements
have a worldwide reputation and they are a center of attraction to
farmers, graduate students and business people from all over the
globe”.
The Israel International Agricultural Week organizers are
planning a wide range of activities and attractions for this special
event, among them plenty of Professional Rural Tours, (there’ll be
Rural tours for delegations from abroad & for the Israeli public),
at farms and agricultural research institutes. Allouce noted that
the agriculture in Israel gives a great ecological contribution, by
using recycled sewage fresh water for irrigating agricultural crops,
keeping lands under Israeli suzerainty and especially for keeping
the “green lounges”, and fighting the dissertation process, that
threatening all Europe and the Mid-North globe countries. Those
important issues will come up during the IIAW many activities.
